Zendaya Makes Underboob an Accessory in Ultra-Cropped Turtleneck

Zendaya’s sci-fi fashion fashion marathon continued last night in Mexico City, where she joined her Dune: Part Two costars for a special fan event.

While she repped an independent designer on the red carpet on Monday, the Emmy winner opted to make a statement in a custom Bottega Veneta set this time around. She wore a mud-brown turtleneck made out of wool flannel, with the top’s hemline cropped so short, it basically made her underboob a main accessory.

The curved hemline and sculptural sleeves also added some dimension to the ensemble, framing her matching wool skirt, which featured a polished leather cinched waist, boxy square pocket flaps, and a daring thigh-high leg slit. The Euphoria star continued to color-coordinate with brown leather pumps, and finished off the look with an array of glittering diamond jewelry, including stud earrings, rings, and an anklet.

Zendaya kicked off the Dune: Part Two press tour Monday, when she walked the carpet looking glamorous in an outfit that honored her character, desert warrior Chani. Designed by Torishéju Dumi, the unique dress featured large swaths of black, gray, and red fabric wrapped in circular shapes and pulled around her torso and waist, leaving an opening at her abdomen.

Zendaya’s longtime stylist, Law Roach, broke down the look to Bazaar. “When I saw it after the designer showed it in Paris, I just kept in in the back of my head,” he said. “I tried to see if we could modify it a little bit, and if you’ll notice, the skirt is a little bit different from how it showed on the runway.” He added, “I think of it as method dressing, kind of like method acting.”
