15 Rainbow, Color Blocked Coats

For the past few years, I've been trying hard to work a bit of color into my winter wardrobe — especially when it comes to outerwear. Sure, I'll always hold a spot for a versatile, sleek, and simple black jacket but, my main, bulky, everyday coat? That one needs to have some sort of fashion-forward element, whether it's an eye-catching print or a splash of neon.

As it turns out, Winter 2021's best coat trend is a mix of both. The rainbow, multi-colored puffer is having a moment (possibly because the current motto is to go all out any and every time you do leave the house), calling back to '70s-style ski jackets and the '80s color-blocked look. Even celebrities like Busy Philipps, Pink, and Ana de Armas have been in on the trend, wearing stylist Karla Welch's collaboration with Eddie Bauer (which was inspired by old Esprit ads!). Similar options have also been popping up at major brands and department stores, varying in price point, warmth, and boldness.
