Bone Thugs-N-Harmony is an American hip hop band based in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. The band has been active since 1991, with the members of the band being Bizzy Bone, Wish Bone, Layzie Bone, Krayzie Bone and Flesh ‘N’ Bone. They are mostly focused on R&B, Gangsta rap as well as hip hop music. The music band works under the labels Universa, WMG, Full Surface, E1 and Ruthless.

The band began their work with the name of The Boys Band Aid, formed by Layzie Bone, Krayzie Bone, Flesh-n-Bone (brother of Layzie) and K-Chill. They used all the money they had to make a demo tape, but did not gain any recognition. Then, K-Chill left the group and Bizzy Bone and Wish Bone came in. In 1993, they released their first album under the name “Faces of Death” but it was not well known.

The group changed their name to become Bone Thugs-N-Harmony – Krayzie Bone decided that the group needed a godfather, someone who could give a push to the Bone Thugs. He chose the rapper Eazy-E, the leader of the biggest rap group of that time, N.W.A. In 1993, Eazy-E was in Los Angeles doing shows, and The Bones went there, hoping to talk to Eazy-E. Not have achieved such a meeting, but managing to talk to him on the phone, Krayzie Bone, at the request of Eazy-E sang a verse by phone, Eazy-E was impressed with the talent, but not until Eazy-E was doing a show in Cleveland that the Bone Thugs returned to his hometown, and this time could not let the chance escape. They succeeded, made the deal and signed to a Ruthless Records group label that belonged to Eazy-E.

The Bone Thugs went to Los Angeles to record their new album funded by Eazy-E called “Creepin on ah Come Up” (1994). Total success resonated worldwide, plua the album spawned two singles and two video clips, “Thuggish Ruggish Bone” and “Foe tha Love of $”, with the special participation of Eazy-E. The album sold over three million copies and took second position on the Billboard R&B chart. In 1997 the group released the album “The Art of War”, with the song “Thug Luv” in partnership with Tupac Shakur which has become a classic album, having sold 394,000 units in its first week of release.

However, in 2000 the group was disrupted when Flesh-n-Bone was arrested and sentenced to 11 years in prison for threatening a friend with an AK-47. Regardless, at the end of 2002 the band released the album “Thug World Order”, but in 2005, Bizzy Bone was expelled from the group, mainly because of his problems with drugs and alcohol. The following year the album “Thug Stories” was released by the record label Koch Records. In the middle of 2008, Flesh ‘N’ Bone was released from prison, and the group met with all members in Los Angeles for a reunion concert. Subsequently in 2010, they released the album “Uni5: The World’s Enemy”, then in 2013 – “The Art of War: World War III”, and in 2015 – “E. 1999 Legends”.
